Hallowe’en Friday pretty much consisted on Pumpkin carving and ODing on sugar… The way it should be!

I’ve nicked one of my brother’s many books on Photography in the hope that I can somehow learn how to take amazing photos with my shoddy camera. A girl can dream.
Ok so it’s giving advice on how to shoot with film and was published in 1995 and goes on and on about lenses and tripods but it’s still got to have some sort of useful tips for a crappy digital camera in 2010 right?
I think it’s just going to fuel my love for my brothers proper camera and will encourage me to spend money on a beautiful Diana camera that I’ve been lusting after since the age of 14. Oh well needs must!
After many hours trawling the internet pretending to apply for graduate jobs I stumbled upon a cute online boutique called Stolen Thunder. It’s official – I’m in love!
Collaborations with Marina offof Marina and the Diamonds and Babushka Dolls – what’s not to love?! I just love the cute designs and I’m massively lusting over their diamond ring (pictured left). I need to somehow stumbled across some cash so I can go on a spending spree!
In all honesty the site is brimming with gorgeous statement jewels and are at really affordable prices (win!). And from what I can gather they’ve also started a new Eco Bamboo range which is a lovely plus for those of us who enjoy knowing our jewels are ethically sourced. Not only that but everything is original, fun and handmade – lovingly so according to the girls’ website. So what are you waiting for ladies?! Get a-spending!
Oh and here’s the link http://www.stolenthunderboutique.com/index.html

University is finally coming to an end. It’s been 4 long years – though the second half has been the most fun and adventure filled despite the work load. Possibly shouldn’t have been that way round… So now it’s practically over and I’m now at a loose end.
Sadly the Man moved over to the North West back in March and left me alone in grotty Newcastle all alone. BUT it has left me free to spend lots of quality and drunken time with the girlies.
May is the month where I’m going to get more active, healthy and creative with my time. For too long I’ve used the excuse that I’ve got too much Uni work on (bullshit) so now I feel I need to do something about it. Don’t get me wrong it’s not an attempt to shed the pounds – I love my curves and I don’t want to get rid of them any time soon – I just feel a healthier lifestyle will keep me busy in-between applying for jobs down South.
I pretty much eat like a Vegetarian anyways, sometimes due to the lack of cash flow, but mostly because I prefer some nice Veg and the odd piece of Fish. Which makes me Pesco-vegetarian more than a plain old Veggie. So out come my recipe books so I can start making my way back through all the tasties I’d long forgotten about – this week’s meal of choice is Prawn and avocado risotto – Yum!
And as much as I love my time in the pub with a nice cool pint of cider it’s definitely time to go out and see the sights. I know as the summer approaches I will be drawn back for a cheeky cider or 7 but hopefully long walks and fresh air and art galleries and exhibitions around the North East and West will be enough to convince me that I’m still being good.
All this extra spare time also gives me the chance to take my knitting up a notch and do more – I’ve been well-behaved and curbed my addiction for too long now in preference of essays and dissertation. Same applies to my baking and cooking – essay deadlines and long library sessions have often seen me skip meals, instead I’ve opted for a quick fix from Greggs. And I feel awful for it.
All that said and done I’m off for a walk around Jesmond Dene and for a rummage through my fabric paints and ribbons!
Oh God! What have I got myself into with this?!
I’ve decided to, perhaps foolishly, step away from my basic, idiot proof tumblr blog and have a go at wordpress… a good idea in theory BUT I’m a techno-fail and can barely work my basic mobile phone and switching my laptop on causes issues most days! SO here goes nothing!
So far it’s taken me a good 30minutes trying to figure out where to find the themes etc, nevermind actually sorting out a few posts. This may take a while…
xx
